Terms and Conditions
In force from 20 October 2026. Dean Seville trades as Mobile Smart Repairs Bolton and carries out cosmetic repairs to vehicles at an address you choose and we accept. There is no workshop for drop-offs.
1. How a price is set
Any price from us rests on your pictures and description, and we confirm it when we see the car in person. Show every damaged area in your photos and tell us about earlier bodywork or resprays. If something on the day doesn’t match the pictures and would change our method or the cost, we stop, explain it and wait for your go-ahead before doing anything extra you would pay for. Turning down a new price is entirely your choice.
2. Fixing a date and a place
We treat a job as booked once the two of us have settled what will be done, when, where and whether a booking fee is payable. The car should be parked lawfully and safely with room to work all the way round; if the ground belongs to someone else, get their permission first. Now and then bad weather, an unsuitable site or the damage itself rules out a mobile repair on the day. If so, we may rebook or recommend a different fix, and we’ll warn you of any major change as early as is reasonable.
3. Fees, cancelling and call-outs that can’t go ahead
Any booking fee is mentioned before you commit, together with whether it’s deducted from your bill and what becomes of it should you call the job off; doing so won’t always forfeit it. When we arrive for a confirmed job and can’t start for a reason that lies with you, say the keys are missing or the car isn’t there, a reasonable call-out charge of no more than £100 may apply. It will never be above the cost we really and unavoidably incurred, we’ll weigh up what happened, and we’ll take steps to reduce that cost.
Need to call off or switch dates? A call, a text or a WhatsApp as soon as you know is all it takes. Contracts made remotely or away from a trader’s premises keep their statutory cancellation rights. Ask us to start inside that cooling-off window and we’ll tell you up front what might then be payable.
4. Payment
The sum on your quote or invoice is what you agree to pay. PayPal or Klarna can be used. Should you spread the cost through either one, that arrangement is theirs: they run their own checks, set their own terms and repayment dates, and show those to you before you sign up. The payment options page says more.
5. Scope of the repair
We take on suitable cosmetic work, such as dents, scratches, scraped bumpers and marks on painted alloy wheels, at the place agreed. Once in a while an existing problem, damage hidden from view or the state of the factory paint means a durable cosmetic result can’t be reached. We’ll tell you why and only go on with your say-so.
6. Warranties we give
We promise to use reasonable care and skill on everything we agree to do. Bodywork and paint repairs also come with our Lifetime Ownership Warranty, given to whoever owns the car on the day the repair is finished. Cover runs from that day for as long as that same person keeps the car, can’t be passed on, and ends on sale or any other change of keeper. Only the patch we worked on is included.
Wheels are handled differently. In place of the Lifetime Ownership Warranty, a painted alloy we refinish gets a twelve-month workmanship warranty counted from the day we finish.
7. Faults we will put right
Under either warranty we fix faults within the repaired patch that trace back to our work: how we prepared the surface, or how we mixed, laid down or cured filler, primer, colour or clear coat. A product failure that has nothing to do with our workmanship sits beyond these warranties, though your statutory rights over materials we provide stay intact. Anything named in section 8 is covered only if our workmanship brought it about.
8. Exclusions
Neither warranty extends to rust or corrosion; chips, scratches, scuffs or dents picked up afterwards; everyday wear; or harm from an outside cause. Nor does it cover damage from acid, aggressive or high-alkaline cleaners, solvents, abrasive products, automatic car-wash brushes or steam cleaners, or from a pressure washer held too near or turned up high, above all when pointed straight at edges, chips or already damaged paint. If ignoring our aftercare advice causes or worsens a problem, cover won’t apply to it either. Normal washing doesn’t invalidate anything: we look into the cause of each problem, and an unrelated mark won’t affect a claim for a separate fault in our repair.
Rust and corrosion work isn’t part of our service. The warranties also leave out failures brought on by rust or corrosion already there, seen or unseen; by earlier repairs; by filler, primer, paint or anything else another person applied; or by the surface underneath giving way for reasons that aren’t down to us. That takes in rust appearing behind a panel, under filler or along a seam, and damage due to age, fading, the elements, stones and road grit, knocks, vandalism, bird mess, tree sap or industrial fallout. If the real cause is poor workmanship on our part, none of these exclusions applies.
9. Looking after the repair and claiming
Follow whatever curing and aftercare notes we hand over. Don’t let acids, harsh chemicals or abrasives near the repaired area, and don’t blast it with a jet wash at close quarters. Spotted a problem with our work? Contact us promptly and send pictures, the registration and your invoice or repair details. We’d like the chance to inspect before anyone else touches it, where that’s possible. A covered fault is corrected with no charge for materials or labour, in reasonable time and without major inconvenience to you, and every other legal remedy remains yours.
10. Statutory rights
This wording governs repairs agreed from 20 October 2026. Anything promised to you under an earlier agreement still stands. Both warranties are extra to the rights the law gives you, such as work done with reasonable care and skill and materials of satisfactory quality, and they don’t replace or cut down those rights. These terms make no attempt to limit any liability that the law says can’t be limited.
11. Contact
