Privacy Policy
Version dated 20 October 2026. Mobile Smart Repairs Bolton is run by Dean Seville (“we”, “us”). Below we explain which details about you we hold when you use this website, ask for a price, upload pictures, book a job or message us, and what they are used for.
Who decides how your data is used?
We do. For the customer information behind our repair service, we are the controller. Questions about your data can go to 07999 909 404, or through the quote request form with “privacy” in the message.
Which details do we hold?
- Identity and contact: name, phone, email, postcode and the address where the work will be done.
- About the car: make, model, registration and any damage photos you upload.
- Your history with us: quotations, bookings, conversations, invoices and any warranty claim.
- Technical data logged by the site and form tools, for example IP address, device, browser, the referring page and activity on the site.
Please angle or crop your photos so that people, house numbers and anything else identifying stay out of shot.
What do we use it for, and on what basis?
- Answering you and pricing the job: steps you asked for before any contract exists.
- Arranging and completing the repair: performing the contract.
- Taking payment and keeping accounts: the contract, plus duties the law places on us.
- Dealing with a complaint or a claim under our warranty: performing our contract with you, and our legitimate interest in resolving it.
- Guarding the site and business against misuse: our legitimate interests.
Non-essential analytics or marketing tools are switched on only where the consent rules allow. Consent can be withdrawn, and marketing stopped, whenever you ask.
Who else sees it?
Only those who need it: the technicians doing your repair; firms hosting the site, the forms and our customer system; phone, email and messaging services; payment providers; our accountant and other advisers; and official bodies where the law demands it. LeadConnector (HighLevel) operates our quote form. Pay through PayPal or Klarna and that company takes the payment or lending decision, governed by its own terms and privacy notice. Full card numbers aren’t normally kept by us, and personal data is never sold.
Does it leave the UK, and is it secure?
Some of the tools behind this site, its forms, our messaging and analytics are based overseas or use overseas servers. Where UK law treats that as a restricted transfer, it goes ahead only under adequacy regulations or an approved safeguard. Sensible technical and organisational measures protect what we hold, though sending data over the internet always carries some risk.
How long is it kept?
- Enquiries and photos with no booking: a maximum of 24 months after we last spoke, unless a dispute needs them.
- Repair, invoice and payment records: typically six years beyond the close of the financial year they belong to.
- Warranty and complaint records: while still relevant, then a sensible period after.
Every so often we check what we hold and delete whatever is no longer needed, unless the law or a potential claim requires us to keep it.
Cookies
Cookies that the site and the quote form need to function may be placed automatically. Turning on analytics, advertising or other embedded tools may bring extra ones. Browser settings let you refuse cookies, at the cost of some features perhaps not working. We’ll audit non-essential cookies and, where required, ask your permission before any are set.
What rights do you have?
Depending on the situation, you may ask for a copy of your data, its correction or deletion, a limit on its use, or a portable copy; you may also object to some processing, and withdraw consent where we rely on it. A few of these depend on legal tests being met. Contact us as described above to use any of them. Unhappy with how we’ve dealt with your data? You can take it up with the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Changes
As our services, suppliers or legal duties change, so will this notice. The version date heading this page tells you which one applies.
