What a visit looks like in each part of Bolton

Wherever you are, we need the car off the road, room to work around it, space for the van and a power socket nearby. Here’s how that tends to work out locally.

Bolton town centre, Deane and Great Lever

Around the centre, rows of terraces with kerbside parking are common, and the public highway is somewhere we can’t set up. A workplace car park, a private yard or a relative’s drive usually solves it. A lot of the door dings we see here start in tight multi-storey bays during a trip into town.

Horwich, Blackrod and Lostock

Out towards Rivington and Winter Hill, newer estates mostly have driveways, which makes a home visit easy. Middlebrook Retail Park and the business units near junction 6 of the M61 produce a steady run of car park bumper scuffs, and many are repaired at the owner’s workplace instead.

Westhoughton

South-west of the town centre beside junction 5 of the M61, Westhoughton is mostly estates with their own drives, so the repair usually happens right outside your front door. Tell us if you only have on-street parking and we will work out another spot with you.

Farnworth, Kearsley, Moses Gate and Little Lever

South of town along the A666, housing is a mix of older terraces and estates with drives. Tell us what parking you have and we’ll help find somewhere suitable. Scratches along doors and wings are among our most common jobs in these streets.

Astley Bridge, Halliwell and Heaton

North-west of the centre, between Chorley New Road and Blackburn Road, many homes have a drive or a shared parking area. Kerbed painted alloys from narrow side roads and high kerbs come up often.

Bromley Cross, Egerton and Harwood

Up towards Jumbles Country Park, most properties have off-road space, so repairs on your own drive are usually straightforward.

Breightmet

On the eastern side of Bolton, estates generally have drives or parking courts. If a shared court is private land, we just need the landowner to be happy.

Repairs we bring to you

Scratch and paint repairs: deep and shallow paint damage, judged honestly and refinished to your code.

Bumper repairs: corner scuffs, gouges and short edge cracks.

Dent removal: small, rounded dents judged honestly from your photos.

Alloy wheel repairs: kerb rash on painted wheels only.

Body repairs: cosmetic damage on doors, wings, mirrors and tailgates.

Coverage questions

Do you add a mileage charge?

No. The figure we agree is for the repair at your address. If you’re on the edge of our area, send your postcode and we’ll check.

Can you work in my employer’s car park?

Usually. We need the car off the highway and a nod from whoever manages the site. It’s a popular choice for people working on Bolton’s business parks.

I only have on-street parking. What now?

Road-side repairs are off the table, but plenty of customers borrow a relative’s drive, use a private car park or book us at work. Mention which of those you could use when you send your photos.

Does bad weather stop a repair?

Paint has to go on dry. If wet weather would spoil it, we’ll move you to the next suitable day. Our full FAQ page covers bookings in more detail.

TAKING THE PICTURES

Three shots
tell us most of it.

  • The whole panel

Stand a couple of metres off so the full door, wing or bumper sits in the frame.

  • Close and square on

Fill the screen with the mark itself, sharp and level, so its depth is easy to read.

  • Low down the side

For a dent, crouch at one end of the car and aim along the bodywork. The reflections give its shape away.

Hard to see on camera?

Rest a coin or your key fob beside the mark. It gives us a sense of scale and a sharper price.
